Pro Ana – Exercise Tips

We all know that in order to be efficient in a Pro Ana lifestyle you need to incorporate exercise in to your daily routine.  This doesn’t mean you have to spend a large amount of money on exercise equipment or gym memberships.  There are many free exercises you can do everyday even while at work.  Remember, diet alone will not get you the results you want.  You may be skinny but you may not be toned.  Exercising doesn’t mean you will look at like a meat head, but instead toning up and making your hard work look polished.

Free Easy Exercises for Pro Ana

Here some easy exercises you can do for free and can indeed make a difference for everyone whether you are doing Pro Ana or not.  Some of you may already be doing these but it doesn’t hurt mentioning them again just to make sure.  Most of these aren’t going to burn 100′s of Calories but they do add up if you try to do them daily.

Take the stairs!  Stair climbing can be a great alternative to running as it’s considered a low impact exercise.  For each average stair you burn roughly 0.11 Calories.  So 10 stairs burns a Calorie (roughly measured by an average person).  Going down stairs burns roughly 0.05 Calories.  So say you climb 20 stairs 3-4 times a day and also go down those stairs the same amount.  This alone has burnt about 10 Calories and you haven’t even broken a sweat (plus it’s free and normally MUCH faster than taking an elevator). Also, if you can do it without falling try to take 2 stairs at a time and you can burn slightly more.

Park and Walk!  Walking is a great way to burn Calories without breaking out into a full fledged sweat.  This is actually something we can all do multiple times a day even if you don’t live within walking distance to stores or work.  The next time you drive to the mall, grocery store, or basically do any shopping try to park in the furthest parking spot away (unless it’s dark, than I recommend skipping this exercise as it’s unsafe).  Most people will spend several minutes circling the parking lot to find the perfect parking spot near the entrance.  Walking will burn roughly 65 calories for each mile for a person that weighs about 120 pounds, and about 100 for individuals who weigh 180 lbs.  Now you don’t have to park a mile away and walk but if you park away from the entrance and do this daily it will start to add up.  Remember, you walk the distance to the store, than back to your car.  So if you park 0.05 miles away (which really isn’t that far) you will walk a tenth of a mile by the time you are done and leaving.

Walk at the mall  Again, here is another free exercise that most of us can do while shopping.  Exercise is normally pretty boring for most individuals and that is why most of us don’t do it.  Unless you can get into an exercise routine then you really need something to take your mind off it.  What better way to take your mind off it than to shop!  Most malls are fairly long especially if you walk in and around the stores.  Now, you don’t have to power walk with the old folks in the morning, but just head to the mall after work or during your lunch break if you are lucky enough to work near a mall and do some walking.  Not only is walking at the mall fun but also it’s very safe and air conditioned and weather proof.  Park at one end of the mall and walk all the way to the other end, than walk back.  Also, if your mall has multiple levels do each level!

  1. Well the tips were helpful I don’t know why I’m anorexic it’s just I feel like I don’t even dserve anything…especialy not food today I walked 3 miles ;) When I work my self and only eat a small mean a day it makes me feel more deserving and I walked up and down the stairs 300 times.

  3. if you want to be anarexic start small by reducing what you eat daily then go to not eating at all just give your body time to warm up to not eating. and water is the KEY!!! its an appetizer suppressent you will never be hungry and dont make it too obvi that your not eating parents, ects will be worry so if its dinner it a little of everything on your plate and be full , then workout right after do this until your as thin as you want hope i helped :)

  4. So I used to be anorexic a few years ago, and I’m trying very hars to be good at it again. I drink tons of water, barely eat and walk everywhere. I’m about to try the HCG drops, but any other advice to help me leave this fat ass behind??

  8. I’m 49 yrs old, have four kids, 3 grown, one in high school. I used to be bulemic years ago, and was thin. I’m so freaking fat, and depressed right now, and all I want is to be thin again. I’ve started drinking tons of water, skipping meals, and started exercising through out the day. Please tell me how long before I start seeing the wt loss. I’m not going to quit until i’m back to 110 lbs.
